Frontier Shop Supplies was originally founded by Rick Roman, a little over 12 years ago, in his barn. Rick saw a need for a mobile service company that would supply businesses with their abrasive, electrical, safety, painting, and welding consumables, saving them time and money. Rick’s wife Mary ran the office, handling all the paperwork for him. Running one truck to service his customers, he slowly grew the company to a full service route for himself. In 2004 they decided to add another sales person and hired on Brian; together they continued to build the company. They serviced decorative fence and gate companies, ornamental iron companies, mechanics, machine shops, and structural steel companies all over Mesa, Gilbert, Chandler, Tempe, and Phoenix Arizona with a 12ft box truck and a 10ft enclosed trailer, working out of the barn until finally they had grown big enough to move to a warehouse facility in Gilbert. In January 2006, Rick became ill and found out that he had a form of terminal Cancer and they decided to sell the company. Rick came to Brian, told him the situation and said he was either going to close down the company or Brian could buy it. Three days later, Brian and his wife Mikki, made a deal with Rick and Mary, to purchase the company. The transition to the new owners was made and Brian and Mikki began to run the company. Unfortunately, a few months later Rick passed away. He was an amazing person, and we appreciate the opportunity that they gave to us.
Brian and Mikki added a new sales representative, George, to the company and business continued to grow with the addition of heavy truck / refuse truck builders and new lines to provide heavy truck supplies and air brake hardware. When the economy started to fail, Frontier had to make some changes and Marla came aboard to run the office. Frontier luckily was able to dig in and hold on throughout the bad times and came out the other side with a renewed focus . With the business growing into body shops and the addition of new lines for body shop supplies, Mikki came back in to help run the office. Frontier moved to its current location in 2016 With the start of the website and business continuing to grow locally, we have continually added sales reps as needed. 14 years later, four sales reps, two office ladies, two warehouse men, and thankfully, lots of fabulous customers later Frontier is thriving! Everyone at Frontier is committed to providing our customers with excellent customer service and we truly value our customers. Frontier is focused on building the company one customer at a time and we are all excited for what the future has in store!!
